Last month I won a load of stuff from Sparkfun during their “free day” promotion, amongst the stuff that I got was a small OLED screen module. TBH at the time I had no idea what to do with it, now I have..
introducing the Gashapon Orchestra!
(please ignore the battery hanging off the side, it doesnt fit in the case yet…)
The screen is showing a simple 5 track sequencer, instead of triggering notes the device shoves 5V out of a headphone port on the top. As a test I knocked this up
its a Mariokart keyring I bought in Tokyo, except now its triggerable by TTL signals, and all with only minimal Dremel work to cram it in the case..
Did I mention its controlled by a NES pad?
Its not finished yet, for one thing I need to hack some more instruments together, something Circuit-bent would be good
For the Flashing Ear project I’ve now sourced a tiny IR receiver with the aim of somehow linking the blinking to twitter/Facebook. Should be easy enough i reckon
